Please see below for information about upcoming case competitions for undergraduate students hosted by our corporate partners. All events take place on the Urbana-Champaign campus unless otherwise noted. Crowe Horwath Consulting Case Competition

About the Competition

Crowe Horwath’s Performance Consulting group has designed a case competition to provide students a realistic picture of the challenging career or internship a young professional would experience at Crowe. We are seeking ten teams of four students. Each team will have 1.5 hours to resolve a case drawn from a Crowe client example and follow with a five to seven minute presentation to a panel of judges. Three finalist teams will be selected to present in a final round. Teams must apply and be accepted to compete. If you do not have a team, you may apply individually for consideration and will be placed on team.

Who should apply to participate

  • Minimum of 3.0 GPA requirement
  • Permanent resident and/or U.S. citizen

About the Competition

Create a team of 4, and sign up by Feb. 28th to participate in this fun and challenging case competition. Teams must consist of AT LEAST 1 freshman OR sophomore AND no more than 1 senior. First place wins $1000 and a 1 hour Career Coaching Session with a Protiviti Leader. Second place wins $750, and third place wins $500. Case material will be released on March 2nd via email. Presentations will take place on March 9th. The awards ceremony will be from 3:30-4:15.

Deloitte R.I.S.E Advisory Case Competition 2018

About the Competition

The Deloitte R.I.S.E. Risk and Financial Advisory Case Competition provides students an opportunity to work as a team to develop a proposal to deliver risk advisory services to a fictitious client in need. The highlight of this competition is a live, in-person event during which finalists from each region present their solution to a panel of judges at Deloitte University in Westlake, Texas. Students will have the opportunity to present to, and meet with, leaders from Deloitte’s Risk and Financial Advisory practice.

Who should apply to participate

The Deloitte R.I.S.E. Risk and Financial Advisory Case Competition is targeting participants of Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior status. All majors are welcome to compete. Space for the competition is limited to 8 students per campus!

PRMIA Risk Management Challenge 2018

About the Competition

The PRMIA Risk Management Challenge is open to undergraduate and graduate students to solve realistic business problems with a risk management focus. Includes two case studies that simulate up-to-date real-life risk management challenges. Winning team will win up to $10,000 cash award.

Who should apply to participate

Any undergraduate or graduate student in business currently enrolled at the time of registration.

January 9, 2018 (preliminary round) conducted online; regional challenges (February 23 or 24, 2018) in various cities worldwide; International challenge round – April 13, 2018.

How to Apply

Teams of 3-4 members register together with the nearest participating chapter. All team submissions are evaluated on their approach to cases and, if successful, are chosen to enter the regional and national finals.; www.prmia.org/prmc; $100 registration fee per team. Deadline January 5, 2018.


PwC Case Challenge Competition

About the Competition

Today’s dynamic business environment requires analytical thinking, fact-based decision making, and collaborative action. You’ll experience it all first hand in Challenge, our campus case competition.

The Challenge case competition models real-world business scenarios focusing on the strategic issues currently being faced by companies all over the world. It is open to all freshmen and sophomores and does not require detailed knowledge of business concepts or accounting.

Within a designated period of time, you will work with a small team of students to review a business case, develop a solution, and create a presentation. Your team will then deliver your solution to a group of PwC professionals. Success is measured by three key criteria: critical thinking, collaboration, and communication. You will come away with valuable insights into our profession, our Firm, and the issues faced by global business leaders.

Challenge Competition Day: Thursday, November 2nd
Competition Time: All day! 8:00am – 5:00pm – students will be scheduled for a 20 – 30 minutes time slot
Competition Location: Illini Union
Awards & Pizza Reception: BIF Auditorium & Atrium from 5:30pm – 7:00pm (time subject to change)

Who should apply to participate

To participate, an individual must be a member of a four or five person team with the following composition:

At least two members of each team must have the intent to apply, applied or are currently enrolled in the Business School.
Teams are encouraged to include a member with the intent major/minor in STEM*
*Relevant STEM Majors/Minors include, but are not limited to: Data/Business Analytics, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Technology Management, Management Information Systems and Security

Eligible Participants:

1st (Freshman) and 2nd (Sophomore) year students in a 4 year program
1st (Freshman), 2nd (Sophomore) and 3rd (Junior) year students in a 5 year program
Juniors in process of applying for a 5th year program
