Biographical Sketch

Don Davis joined the University of Illinois in 2007 as an Adjunct Lecturer in Finance teaching insurance and risk management courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as other finance course. 

Don spent 15 years in the insurance industry in various capacities as an employee and currently consults for insurance agencies and companies.  He has worked in sales & marketing, customer service call center, product development, and systems development & implementation.  Currently, he consults small businesses on all aspects of finance and business, concentrating on risk management and insurance issues for businesses with less than 25 employees.  During Don’s 30-year career, when he was not in the insurance industry, he was a serial entrepreneur who started and developed four successful small businesses.  His heart has always been with small businesses, even when working for some of the largest companies.

Currently Don is on the advisory board of two companies and is an executive for two non-profit organizations in Champaign-Urbana in addition to his own company.
