Madhu Viswanathan will serve on newly forming UN advisory board

Madhu Viswanathan, professor of business administration, recently accepted an invitation to serve on a newly forming advisory board of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.

The board will meet for two days each summer from 2014 to 2018 in Geneva, Switzerland, and will focus on livelihood strategies for refugees.

"My conversation with [the Office] suggested that they greatly valued the notion of marketplace literacy as we have developed it at the level of broader understanding of the marketplace, rather than previous approaches of focusing narrowly on specific livelihoods," said Viswanathan.

Congratulations to Professor Viswanathan!
