“We have been sitting in a room full of CEOs the past couple days and your presentation skills were 90% better than theirs,” said one of the judges to the winning Illini team at the Johnson and Johnson National Case Competition.
Connor Matthews, Brad Fink, Mike Szymanski, Brianna Baker, Sarah Quirk, and Matt Gardeck competed in the annual case competition last week. Their challenge was to recommend strategies for pricing, packaging, selling & marketing, and research & development for the transfer of a prescription drug to the OTC (Over-the-Counter) market using both quantitative and qualitative analysis.
Matthews proudly described their achievement, “We were ecstatic about winning and bringing another one home for Illinois! They gave us a huge check to hold too! We will be celebrating this weekend in NYC.”
Competing teams were from Bucknell University, Florida International University, LaSalle University, Penn State University, Rider University, Rutgers New Brunswick, Rutgers Newark, Seton Hall University, and the University of Florida.
