On Saturday, March 31st, the first James A Gentry Finance Case Competition was held for graduate finance students in the MSF program. The event was a great success with 7 teams participating in the first round. The teams were given a case about a joint venture company in Asia facing increased financing needs as it was experiencing high growth in recent years and major technological changes in the industry. The teams were asked to prepare a 20 minute presentation with an analysis of the issues and recommendations to the firm’s senior management. Judges for the competition included faculty and executive finance professionals.

Two teams advanced to the final round, TRIPLE V and PLANIFICA, which were awarded First Place and Runner Up respectively. First place was awarded $3000 and the Runner Up was awarded $1600.
