Doctoral Program

Welcome from Cele Otnes, Interim Head, Department of Business Administration

Welcome to the Doctoral Program of the Department of Business Administration. The objective of our Ph.D. degree in Business Administration is to provide doctoral students with the knowledge and skills necessary to identify and research complex issues within their respective business specialties. The foundational principles for our doctoral program are pursuing research excellence, fostering student proactivity in building their academic careers, and forging strong student-professor partnerships.

Research Excellence

Our Doctoral Program is committed to providing the resources that allow students to develop into highly qualified scholars and educators, who receive training in the latest research methodologies, and can produce original and impactful research work.

Student Initiative

Our program fosters independent, creative work by doctoral students, who are encouraged to determine their own research directions under the guidance of their adviser and thesis committees.

Student/Professor Partnerships

Our doctoral program encourages close, research-focused contact between faculty and students. Small-sized classes, research assistantships, and the dissertation committee format provide doctoral students with many opportunities to exchange and develop ideas with professors. A high professor/student ratio ensures professors can devote substantial time and attention to student development.
