Illinois International Accounting Symposia

The Symposium began in 1967 with the goal of fostering research in international accounting and populating the ranks of scholars who are interested in the field. Since 2003, the Symposium has been held abroad in collaboration with other universities to help benefit the talents of scholars in different regions of the world.

2018 Symposium Call for Papers

The 2018 Symposium will be co-sponsored by KAIST College of Business and take place June 6 – 8, 2018 in Seoul, South Korea.

We invite authors to submit research papers at The International Journal of Accounting Symposium. All submitted papers will be reviewed anonymously, and based on the reviews, the Program Scientific Committee will select up to seven papers for presentation. Paper selection will be based on the quality of the work and the potential for contributing to the literature. There is no submission fee.

Attendance to the Symposium is open to all, first-come, first serve until we reach 100 registrants.

Submission: Submit electronically through by January 15, 2018 through EVISE. Manuscripts submitted elsewhere will not be considered.

Cost: One author and one discussant for each accepted paper will be reimbursed for the cost of travel & lodging (up to 2000 USD). Receipts are required.

Publishing: To consider the presented papers for publication in TIJA, authors should submit a revised draft that addresses all the comments made at the Symposium. This revised draft will be sent to one reviewer only.

Ph.D. Consortium

We will be holding a doctoral consortium on Wednesday, June 6 to assist up to 25 Ph.D. students in the development of their dissertations. Interested Ph.D. students should email by February 1, 2018 with their topic.
