ACCY 290: Professional Internship
Zero credit internships are granted on a case-by-case basis by the accounting department and are primarily dependent on the type of internship work experience as well as the accounting classes already completed. Students who are declared accounting majors and are working full time in an off campus, accounting related internship may request departmental approval to register for zero credit enrollment in Accy 290. Students wishing to enroll in Accy 290 must be considered a degree seeking student during the internship semester. Students desiring CPT should meet with ISSS as soon as possible. Keep in mind that students will not qualify for CPT if they have completed their degree requirements and would otherwise be able to graduate. Summer interns who graduate in May and start graduate school in the fall will not be considered degree seeking, and will be unable to register for the internship course. Students in this situation should meet with their academic advisor immediately. Possible strategies include delaying undergraduate graduation date till August or still graduating in May but starting the master’s program in summer .
