Movie Night

This Thursday, March 31, at 6pm in 23 Psychology Building, Finance Club hosts a movie night! We will be viewing Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps. Free pizza and beverage will be provided. This will count as one professional/social event point to obtain active membership status.

Chicago Trip

Our Chicago Trip this semester is Friday, April 15th from 7:00am to about 5:00pm. We will be visiting the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, Goldman Sachs, & McKinsey. This will be a great way to network with professionals in different areas of finance and see what it is like at their jobs. Interested members should email me at Rajiv and include their resume. We only have about 20 spots for general members meaning spots are first come first serve!


Training the Street

The Illinois MBA program, Illinois Investment Banking, and Finance Club have worked together to bring Training the Street (TTS) (the world's leading provider of instructor-led courses to the leading financial institutions, consulting firms, & Fortune 500 companies) to the University of Illinois - College of Business. Training the Street is putting on a modeling workshop designed to develop modeling skills in Microsoft Excel. This workshop will be beneficial to any professional seeking to pursue a career in any of the following: Marketing, Strategic Development, Asset Management, Consulting, Investment Banking, Private Equity, and Venture Capital. Regardless of your career choice, Excel will be a necessary tool, so an enhanced understanding of the program can help distinguish you from other candidates.

Mock Trading Sessions

We're looking for volunteers to attend the mock trading sessions that Finance Club conducts with local high schools. We simulate trading pits common to those of the New York Stock Exchange. Participation will count as one social/professional point towards active membership. The next session is on Friday, 4/1 in Oakwood High school, Fithian. If you would like to mentor the high school students, contact Drishti Garg.


Fin 221/300 Tutoring

Finance Club will be offering Finance 221 and Finance 300 tutoring in MIL (computer labs in BIF) Monday through Thursday 4-6pm.

Public Relations Committee
