Student Organizations

Get Involved! Make a Difference!

College of Business students are involved in the life of the College and assist in building school pride and a strong community. Our students are leaders—they're involved in clubs, planning conferences, participating in the senior gift campaign, competing in case competitions, taking part in our job shadow program, completing summer internships, and are designing and implementing their own initiatives. Our students are making a difference!

The Council of Presidents

In 1989, the Council of Presidents (COP) was formed to assemble the presidents of undergraduate business student organizations together to discuss important college initiatives, to exchange information and to assist in the planning of freshman class events, senior class events, conferences, and a host of other college initiatives.

Today this group of 25 organizations work together to add value to the College of Business experience in additional ways; hosting the annual Council of Presidents “Hustle for Humanity” 5k, organizing an annual speaker series, and working together on individual organization events to build stronger professional networks and help teach one another valuable business-related lessons outside of the classroom.

Campus Wide Organizations

With more than 800 organizations to choose from, you’re sure to find a registered organization that meets your needs and interests—and if not, you can start your own! Registered organizations enrich life at the U of I by providing programs like dances, lectures, movies, tournaments and races. To encourage students to participate in the extracurricular life of the U of I, the Registered Organizations Office was created and is now located in Illini Union room 280, the Student Organization Complex. To talk to a contact person for a specific organization or to learn more about forming your own organization, contact the Registered Organizations Office at 333-1153.
