Step Eight—Freshman Discovery Courses

The goal of the Discovery Program is to help the University’s freshman enhance their first year education through greater interaction with faculty in small classes.

Discovery courses are once in a lifetime opportunities for Business freshmen. The courses are limited only to first year students.

Here are the major reasons students take Discovery courses:

• Small courses with enrollment limited to 17-19 students.
• Courses are offered from a variety of academic disciplines.
• The courses are taught by a faculty member which provides an opportunity for students and faculty to interact. The interactive courses also enable faculty to share their research in a particular area with students.
• Some Discovery courses can be used to satisfy University’s General Education or a college’s major requirements, while others are electives.
