It's
official. Even if summer begins almost a month from now
on June 21, the start of the summer season is upon the campus.
Graduation weekend is the end of the academic year for us,
but we don't slow down when the students leave Urbana-Champaign.
Summer
classes and the annual LEAD (Leadership, Education, and
Development) Institute keep things lively. Although more
staff are gone on vacations in June, July, and August, the
summer months are when many of the departments and offices
in the College develop new programs, finalize details for
classes, and plan events that take place during the academic
year.
We're
here. We're busy.
While
the respite from the crowds is welcome, if we are honest,
we will admit to missing our students. They are the lifeblood
of the campus and our raison dêtre.
Sincerely,
Avijit Ghosh
Dean
