Delegation of Auditors and Accountants from Russia Visits College

Members of the delegation visiting the College.A delegation of auditors and accountants from Russia visited the College this month as part of a three-week tour of the US focusing on productivity enhancements. The visit was coordinated through the Rotary Club of America and the Russian Center for Citizen Initiatives.

Accompanied by an interpreter from the US and a facilitator from Russia, the 11 delegates attended a full day of sessions in the College on a variety of accountancy topics including strategy and competitive advantage in turbulent industries, managing organizations in a global economy, auditing in the US, how auditing improves quality of information, and market pricing as a solution to resource allocation challenges. Presenters included David Lins, Paul Vaaler, Huseyin Leblebici, Frank Nekrasz, Susan Curtis, and Larry DeBrock. 

Ira Solomon's (l) greeting is interpreted.The delegation was welcomed by Ira Solomon and also met with Dean Avijit Ghosh during an informal lunch.

Attendees ranged in age from 27 to 49 and represented a variety of firms in Russia that provide auditing and accounting services for a range of clients. Several delegates reported specific interest in improving services, attracting more customers, and personnel and management strategies.
