Award Winning Faculty and Teaching Assistant Announced
Teaching can be defined as activities that educate or instruct
or activities that impart knowledge or skill. The College of Business
is pleased to announce the names of spring 2004 award winners who
have been selected as outstanding educators by the College of Business
Alumni Association and by the campus Office of the Provost:

Tom Finnegan,
lecturer in accountancy, received the Excellence-in-Teaching
Award for Undergraduate Teaching. Finnegan received his award
at the 2004 Spring Luncheon held in Chicago. The award is given
by the College of Business Alumni Association. |

Nicholas
Petruzzi, assistant professor of business administration,
received the Excellence-in-Teaching Award for Graduate Teaching
at the Spring Luncheon. His award is also given by the College
of Business Alumni Association at the Spring Luncheon. |

Martin Maurer, a PhD student in the College of Education,
was awarded the Excellence-in-Teaching Award for Teaching Assistants.
Maurer is enrolled in the Department of Human Resource Education
but teaches in the Department of Finance. His award is also
given by the College of Business Alumni Association at the Spring
Luncheon. |

Neil Pearson, Investors
in Business Education Fellow in Finance and professor of finance,
was selected to receive the Campus Award for Excellence in Off-Campus
Teaching. The award is made by the Provost's Office, and Pearson
will be honored during the campus Instructional Awards Banquet
in April. |
