News at six!
Student
enthusiasm for the Leadership Education and Development (LEAD)
program is evident in a recent news
segment shown on WCIA on the six o'clock news program.
LEAD participants Rachel Rodgers (top left) and Alberto Mercado
were interviewed by reporter Anne Dill about the classes,
case project, and corporate visits.
Assistant Dean Jewell White (bottom left), co-director of
LEAD, was also on camera explaining the reasons LEAD was developed
in Philadelphia more than two decades ago.
LEAD is a Philadelphia-based
national partnership of business and academia to encourage
high-achieving high school students to pursue careers in business.
Comprehensive summer business institutes at top business schools
across the country give students with a broad perspective
of the business world as well as supporting services that
will help them map a personal educational path to success.
The Bank One Foundation provided the support for the College
of Business to be a LEAD
Summer Institute site. This is the first year Illinois
has particiated as a summer institute.
