Assistant Deans Named

John Hedeman, named assistant dean for the honors program, will spearhead the development of an honors program for students in the College of Business. Hedeman brings his new post considerable experience in academic counseling and administration, including five years as the Principal of the University Laboratory High School in Urbana. John Hedeman received his BS from Princeton University and MS in guidance and counseling from John Hopkins University. He earned his Ph.D. in higher education administration from the U of I College of Education.

Jewell White was named assistant dean for recruiting and admissions. White joined the University of Illinois in 1999 in the University Office of Minority Student Affairs and moved to the College of Business the following year, when he was named assistant director in Business Career Services. White has a BS in finance from the Urbana campus and an MS in guidance and counseling from North Carolina Central University.

Both Hedeman and White assume their new posts in the Office for Undergraduate Affairs in August.
