The Executive MBA at Illinois Sponsors
Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce Online Initiative
The Executive
MBA at Illinois is the 2003 sponsor for the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce
"Roper Minute,"
a twice-monthly online resource offering insights and information on critical
topics and issues facing the Chicagoland business community. As the 2003
underwriting organization, The Executive MBA at Illinois program has been
involved in concept, launch, and execution of the show.
The
Executive MBA at Illinois program expands to Chicago effective in
the fall of 2003 and launches its recently revised (and shortened) 14-month
program of study plus an overseas study for a total of 15 months. Classes
will be offered in the Illini Center on Wacker Drive.
Kicking
off the first Roper Minute of the year with host Jerry Roper was Director
of The Executive MBA at Illinois Merle Giles. Giles' session focused
on how companies ensure that employees have the tools and skills to make
today's tough business decisions. Also appearing was Todd Miller,
president and COO of the Revere Group and a 1981 graduate of the College
with a BS in Business Administration.
Giles
noted in his comments that an EMBA teaches competence in a broad range
of business fundamentals as well as leadership skills to overcome today's
business challenges. Most students are business executives who enter the
program with a specific area of expertise. EMBA students learn to be aware
of inconsistenies in behavior and decision making in order to spot problems
before they get serious.
