Glenn
Hoetker, an assistant professor of strategy in the Department of Business
Administration, received the 2002 Business Policy and Strategy Free Press
Award for Outstanding Dissertation Research at the 2002 annual meeting of the
Academy of Management. Hoetker's
University of Michigan dissertation was entitled "The Role of Technical
and Relational Capabilities in the Selection of Suppliers for Technically Innovative
Components in the U.S. and Japan." He was also a finalist for the Best
Dissertation Award from the Technology and Innovation Management division of
the Academy.
Hoetker holds an MS in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois in addition to his BS from Earlham College and MS in econmics from Michigan. He will chair the 2003 BPS Dissertation workshop in Seattle.
