Whether you are visiting our campus to see a Lyceum speaker, to participate in an information session, or to meet with the staff, you have a variety of travel options. The Illini Center campus is centrally located at 200 South Wacker Drive in the heart of downtown Chicago, across from the Willis Tower. The Illini Center is on the corner of Adams Street and Wacker Drive, easily accessible from major expressways and via public transportation (“El” subway, Amtrack, Metra, taxis and City busses).

Driving Directions

The MS Tax Program is taught on the fourth floor of the Illini Center. You can go online to http://www.mapquest.com/ for driving directions. Or, call if we can help in any other way: 312.575.0909 (9-5).

Public Transportation

We are in a location that is very accessible by public transportation. You can hail a cab or water taxi right outside the building, you can travel by CTA “El” train, or by CTA bus. Union station is located just across the river from the Illini Center where you can find the Metra or Amtrak trains. Theses trains serve the Chicago suburbs. Additional information is provided below.

http://www.transitchicago.com/ – Getting around Chicago is simple and quick, thanks to buses and the "El," a system of elevated trains operated 24 hours a day by the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA; 312/836-7000). Pick up a CTA System Map, available at most subway stations and visitor centers. Buses run every five to fifteen minutes during rush hours and every eight to twenty minutes at most other times. Rapid transit trains run every five to fifteen minutes during the day and every fifteen to sixty minutes all night.

Chicago's taxis can be hailed anytime in the Loop and other central neighborhoods; otherwise call Yellow (312.829.4222) or Checker taxis (312.243.2537).

A Water Taxi (312.222.9328) operates on the river during rush hour in summer (April-Oct). See http://shorelinesightseeing.com/watertaxis/commuter/willissearstower-unionstation/  for rates.

The Metra or Metropolitan Railroad operates 12 surface train lines serving the six-county area which hub into downtown Chicago from the outlying Chicago suburbs. Visit http://www.metrarail.com/ or call Metra Passenger Services (312.322.6777).

Amtrak is a national rail train service serving Chicago and most of the continental United States. Trains depart primarily from the two major Chicago train stations, Union Station and Northwestern Station (Ogilvie Transportation Center) located at the intersection of Madison and Canal.
