Software Resources

While most of the software products in the MIL are used by industry professionals in the world of finance, many of them are used in other business fields as well, such as Supply Chain Management, Marketing, Accounting, and Management.

The Department of Finance offers several Programs of Study in the areas of Corporate Finance, Risk Management, and Wealth Management. Each software product complements one or several of these areas.

Argus DCF: ARGUS Valuation – DCF is an industry standard commercial real estate cash flow projection, transaction analysis and asset valuation solution.  For over 20 years, Argus DCF has been used globally by real estate appraisers, brokers, developers, managers, investors, lenders, and other real estate professionals. Crystal Ball: Since 1986, Oracle's Crystal Ball has been providing decision analysis software and solutions that help analysts, managers, engineers, and other professionals to make better business decisions. The software is used by 85% of the Fortune 500. Crystal Ball is a graphically oriented forecasting and risk analysis program that helps deliver better outcomes by defining risk and uncertainty. By applying Monte Carlo techniques, Crystal Ball transforms spreadsheets into dynamic models that address almost any problem involving uncertainty and risk. Matlab is a technical computing software that allows you to solve complex mathematical problems, optimize systems with thousands of variables, and plot statistical, probabilistic and regression models. The Moody’s KMV RiskCalc and CreditEdge are advanced credit analysis tools. CreditEdge assesses counterparty risk associated with publicly traded companies from around the world. It provides lenders and investors with an objective calculation of a firm's probability of default over a given time period. In addition, the CreditEdge mainframe offers comprehensive portfolio coverage management, historical credit changes, and detailed scenario analysis to determine the credit worthiness of any company or industry in the economy.  RiskCalc enables greater precision and accuracy in evaluating private firm credit risk by combining financial statement and equity market-based information.
