About the Architect

Born in Argentina, Cesar Pelli is the former dean of the Yale School of Architecture and a distinguished alumnus of the University of Illinois. One of the foremost architects in the world, Mr. Pelli's work has been widely published and exhibited, with eight books dedicated to his design and theories. In 1995, the American Institute of Architects selected Mr. Pelli as one of the 10 most influential living American architects. In 1989 the Association recognized Cesar Pelli and Associates with the Firm Award for Excellence in Architectural Design. In 1996 the University of Illinois recognized Cesar Pelli through its Alumni Achievement Award.

Cesar Pelli and Associates have designed several exceptional buildings in the United States and abroad including the International Finance Center and the World Financial Center in New York City, Canary Wharf Towers in London, Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur, 181 West Madison in Chicago, Bank of America Corporate Center in Charlotte, Citigroup Tower in London, Owens Corning headquarters in Toledo, NTT headquarters in Tokyo, Performing Arts Center in Charlotte, and, currently under construction, the National Museum of Contemporary Art in Osaka, Japan. The firm also has designed educational and cultural centers at the University of Texas, Rice University, UC Riverside, UCLA, UCSF, Yale University, and Vassar College as well as the master plan for the campuses of the University of Texas at Austin and Rice University.
