Lois Meerdink, director of Commerce Placement, received the Emerson
Cammack Award for Outstanding Service to Undergraduate Students.
This prestigious service award is given by the Commerce Alumni
Association to a member of the college whose service to undergraduate
students extends beyond the expected norm. Recipients for this
college-wide award are nominated by students and faculty. The
award is named for Emerson Cammack, former associate dean for
undergraduate affairs.
Lois Meerdink has been director of the placement office for six years. During that time the office has grown, improved service, and been brought forward into the technological 20th century. Student and recruiters alike praise Lois. The outstanding job she has done is reflected in the increased market share Commerce Placement has earned across campus. One nominator wrote, "Lois really cares about the students in the college. She is always looking for new programs to help students prepare themselves for the job market that she can add to her already overfull schedule. . . .For dedication and service far beyond the measure of her duties, Lois Meerdink is a very deserving candidate for the Emerson Cammack Outstanding Service Award." |
