STUDENT ACHIEVEMENTS

Three accounting seniors, Gary A. Blickhan, Mark A. Blickhan, and Rohnda Schmalz, were awarded Arthur H. Carter Scholarships. These prestigious national awards are sponsored by the American Accounting Association. Rhonda also won the Margaret Keldie Scholarship.

Vonda Powell, a doctoral student in marketing, won the National Black MBA Association Scholarship. She also won the marketing Science Institute's Dissertation Proposal Award. A student of Professor Kent Monroe, Vonda has a tenure-track job at the University of Virginia starting this fall.

Steve Marianetti, a senior in business administration, won the 150-pound NCAA title in wrestling this spring. He has an outstanding wrestling records -- 120-38. He has been named to the Academic All-Big Ten team four times and is an Academic All-American. He carries a cumulative 4.21 grade point average. Upon graduation this spring, Marianetti plans to continue his education by enrolling in an MBA program.

Vernon J. Richarson, a doctoral candidate in accountancy, won a $40,000 fellowship from the Deloitte and Touche Foundation. Vernon is one of ten doctoral students nationwide who were awarded this two year fellowship
