Most of the innovative new technology that enriches the teaching environment of Room 240 Comm West is the result of a $51,000 gift from Urbana businessman Richard B. Cogdal. Cogdal, an accounting graduate of the college (BA. 1939, M.A. 1940), served in the Navy in World War II and then was an accountant with Arthur Andersen & Company in Chicago. He returned to Urbana in 1948 to work with his father in the family insurance and real estate firm, now Cogdal and Hobbs, in which he is still active. "I was just an average student, but I thought if ever I was successful enough to give something back to the college, I would." And he did. Thanks |
