Jaimi E. Goodfriend, CFA
Jaimi Goodfriend, CFA, joined the Department of Finance in Spring 2008, teaching courses in investment management and derivatives to undergraduate and graduate students. She has also developed course offerings in portfolio management, investment banking and financial statement analysis and won graduate teaching awards in 2009 and 2011. In April 2011, she was appointed director of the University's Investment Banking Academy.
Jaimi served as a Senior Equity Analyst in the hedge fund industry, most recently at Citadel Investment Group in Chicago, where she specialized in global commodity and industrial corporations. Her work has been published in The Wall Street Journal, Dow Jones, The New York Times, The LA Times, Bloomberg News, Seeking Alpha and her interviews have appeared on the CNN Financial Network and PBS. Jaimi subsequently joined Citadel's Quantitative Alpha Generation Group, where she researched alternative, fundamentally-based investment strategies. In addition, Jaimi co-founded Trading Sciences, LLC, a quantitative software and money management firm, and currently serves as a Director. She began her career in Mergers & Acquisitions investment banking at Bank of America (formerly Montgomery Securities) in San Francisco.
Ms. Goodfriend holds an economics degree from the University of Michigan and an MBA from the J. L. Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. She has held board of director positions in philanthropic organizations and is an accomplished marathoner.
