Paul Beck
Professor of Accountancy and Irwin J. Jecha Professor of Accountancy
Paul Beck, holder of the Irwin Jecha Distinguished Professorship in Accountancy, earned his bachelor’s degree from UIUC before completing his MPA and Ph.D. from the University of Texas-Austin. Before coming to Illinois in 1983, he taught accounting at the University of Arizona, was a visiting assistant professor at the University of Chicago, and taught management at the University of California, Los Angeles. He has been a winner of the American Tax Association Tax Manuscript Award and has served on the editorial boards of the Journal of Accounting and Public Policy, Journal of the American Taxation Association, and Accounting Review. His teaching and research center on taxation.
