2- How  to succeed in a fully online course

These courses target College of Business students while they are in their Study Abroad experience. This is probably your first experience as online student, and it is important that you are ready for this experience. Learning online may be more convenient but the time commitment,  responsibilities and type of work demanded in an online course is very similar to a face-to-face course.  For starters, think about these questions and if can respond "yes" to all or most of them, then you are ready to have a great online experience:

1. Are you comfortable interacting with others and doing classwork in a web based environment?
2. Are you self-motivated to complete tasks?
3. Do you have good time management skills?
4. Can you work independently without direct supervision?
5. Do you feel comfortable when most communication  happens by reading and writing?

We would also like to provide you with some information of what it means to be an online students, and a choice of self-tests to see if Online Learning is a good fit with your learning style, or what things you should be paying attention to, to make your experience a very successful one.

3- Access to the online course

The online courses use the new learning environment at the U of Illinois: IL Compass 2G. You are probably familiar with Illinois Compass from previous semesters. This new generation of IL Compass has some differences from the previous system, so please watch the video that shows how to access, log in and customize your new learning space:





Details and introduction to courses

BADM 310 OL Management and Organizational Behavior

General analysis of management and organizational behavior from a systems point of view, including classical organizational theory and management, organizational behavior, and management science; environmental forces; planning, organizing, and control processes; motivation, incentives, leadership, communication, and interpersonal relations; and discussion of production and decision-making and mathematical models. Prerequisite: Junior standing.

BADM 320 Section OL - Principles of Marketing

Emphasizes the concepts of planning, organization, control, and decision making as they are applied in the management of the marketing function. Provides an overview of aspects of the marketing discipline. Prerequisite: ECON 202 or equivalent (Statistics I).
