Student Programs
Gift Purpose: Enrichment Academy Pre-Arrival Program - Goal: $5,000

The Enrichment Academy is a new endeavor through the Office of Undergraduate Affairs which aims to create an umbrella organization to provide College of Business students with the necessary tools and resources to be successful in their college experience.
The funds donated through LEGACY would be utilized to launch a Pre-Arrival Program for a cohort of 15 – 20 students entering the College of Business in the fall of 2013.  The students would be identified by looking at their ALEKS math placement score and their ACT Math sub score.  Students below a certain number in both areas would be invited to arrive on-campus early to participate in intense math and economic training to prep them for their first quantitative courses at the collegiate level.
These students, who would normally be labeled “at risk” before they ever stepped foot in a college classroom, will have the opportunity to tackle two of the biggest obstacles they will face in college, getting over their fear of numbers and finding a group of peers who they fit with.
Student Scholarships
Gift Purpose: Unrestricted Scholarship Funding for College of Business Students

Donations supporting this giving option will be allocated to current and future College of Business students at the discretion of the College of Business Deans. This scholarship fund is unrestricted and will support need- and merit-based scholarships to enrich the College of Business by attracting and retaining outstanding students with diverse talents and experiences.

Gift Purpose: Two 80" TV Displays for Margolis Market Information Lab - Goal: $4,000

The Market Information Lab would like to use funding from the 2013 LEGACY Class Gift to provide two-80 inch TV screens that would replace the white boards and projectors in the Trading Lab. These giant displays will be installed in the Trading Lab (the lab facing the BIF Atrium) resulting in high visibility and they will, among other things, provide information about the MIL in the form of a continuously cycling PowerPoint presentation.  The presentation can be seen from the BIF atrium, and will likely include information about the MIL Advisory Board, the MIL Fellowship program, faculty that utilize MIL resources, etc., and we could certainly use this display to also recognize the contributions to the LEGACY gift.
Dean's Discretionary Fund
Gift Purpose: Current-use, Unrestricted Funding to Serve the College's Greatest Needs

Year-in and year-out, thousands of College of Business alumni and friends give to the College of Business Annual Fund, trusting that their charitable dollars will be used to support the College's greatest needs. This unrestricted funding is vital to the sustainability and progression of the COB, since tuition dollars only cover 2/3 of the College's total expenses and the College no longer receives funding from the state of Illinois. Your annual gift to support this fund is a vote of confidence in the direction that College of Business administration will take the College, and will support students and faculty for years to come. Annual gifts from alumni also boost national rankings, like those in U.S. News and World Report.
