Legacy Committee Members
Chelsea Aulis is a senior double majoring in Management and Marketing with a minor in Technology & Management. She is from Yorkville, Illinois. Chelsea is actively involved through the College of Business serving as a Section Leader for Business 101 for two years. She has also served as the committee chair of the College Ambassadors committee in Business Council for two years and was responsible for coordinating the Shadow Program for high school seniors visiting the College of Business. For the past two summers, Chelsea interned at Robert Bosch on the SAP Implementation Project Team. She is excited to oversee the Monthly Event committee and encourage her Class of 2013 to come together and bond by attending LEGACY events throughout the year!
Taylor Baron is a senior studying marketing and international business from Deerfield, IL. On campus, she is extremely involved in the business fraternity, Alpha Kappa Psi. Her past internship experience includes Marathon Petroleum and Kohl’s Department Stores. Taylor is heading the Marketing Committee for this year’s LEGACY Campaign and is excited to bring the College of Business students together!
Jim Cummings is a senior majoring in Accountancy from Orland Park, IL. On campus, Jim is the External Affairs Chair for Business Council, and a Resident Advisor at Bromley Hall. This past summer, Jim was an Audit intern at Deloitte. This is Jim's second year on the LEGACY Committee. Jim is excited to be heading the Special Events Committee, and help unite the senior class.
Billy Tabrizi is a senior studying Accountancy in his MAS year from Vernon Hills, IL. On campus he his highly involved in Business Council, where he was the 2011 President. He is also the Course Manager and a three-time section leader for Business 101. Last year, he was honored as the 2012
Lincoln Laureate for the Urbana campus. Billy works in Undergraduate Affairs in Admissions (as a tour guide) and is President of Orthodox Christian Fellowship, teaching Sunday School for grades 3-5. Billy is leading the Outreach Committee and is excited for a great senior year and campaign!
Monthly Events Committee
Kieran Brennan is a senior in supply chain management and marketing. He also is minoring in Spanish. He hails from the beautiful and classy Riverside, IL. Kieran focuses a lot of his extracurricular energy to his professional business fraternity, Alpha Kappa Psi, where he has taken on a number of leadership roles. This past summer Kieran interned at John Deere Harvester Works within the Supply Management Department in the Quad Cities. What excites Kieran most about LEGACY this year is the opportunity to build morale within the College of Business and leave an everlasting impact on his fellow classmates.
Matt Gardeck is a senior from Algonquin, IL majoring in Accountancy and Finance. On campus, he has been actively involved in Business Council and Illinois Business Consulting. Additionally, he is a section leader for the Business 101: An Introduction to Professional Responsibility course. He wants to give back to the College of Business to ensure that it
keeps its reputation high for all future COB students. He is most excited to get to know his fellow seniors and to make
an immediate impact.
Lauren Johnson is a Senior double majoring in Marketing and Management. She has held a job on campus since her freshman year working at the Health Resource Center for McKinley Health Center. She also studied abroad last semester in Rotterdam, The Netherlands and was fortunate enough to travel to ten countries in a little over two months. She wants to give back to the CoB because it has provided her so many opportunities throughout her college career and she wants to help thank all at the College for all they have done. She is very excited to meet everyone in LEGACY and most excited for Happy Hours and planning monthly events!
Chris Mayor is a senior from Chicago, IL majoring in Accountancy and minoring in Technology & Management. On campus, Chris was previously on the executive board and still actively involved in Alpha Kappa Psi Business Fraternity. Also, he is a Business 101 Section Leader. Next summer, Chris will be interning at PwC in Assurance in Summer 2013. He is excited to further developing the College of Business and giving back to a college that has given so much to him.
Tracey Smolen is Senior studying Accountancy from Highland Park, Illinois. She currently serves as the Treasurer of Phi Gamma Nu Professional Business Fraternity, works as a Student Ambassador in the Admissions Office and is a
member of Sigma Delta Tau Sorority. This past summer, Tracey was an Audit intern at KPMG and received a fulltime offer. She is excited to be a member of LEGACY - she is ready to give back to the College that has provided so many resources and opportunities - she wants to ensure the same experience is available for future Fighting Illini!
Special Events Committee
Jessica Celske is a senior majoring in Marketing from Aledo, IL. On campus, she is involved with Phi Gamma Nu Professional Business Fraternity and is also interning under the Director of Campus Recreation for this school year. She is extremely excited to plan a variety of events this year to help unite the senior class!
Taylor Eversden is a senior in Accounting from Harrisburg, IL. Last summer, Taylor was an Engine Internal Audit Intern at Navistar, Inc. Taylor studied abroad last semester in Milan, Italy. She hopes to return back to Italy soon and ideally would love to work in Europe after graduation. On campus, Taylor is involved in Business Council and her sorority, Kappa Alpha Theta where she served as Treasurer in 2011. Taylor is excited to be part of the LEGACY Campaign to unite and give back to the College of Business.
Alex Hepp is a senior from Tinley Park, IL majoring in Finance and Accountancy and minoring in Technology & Management.
On campus, he is president of Phi Gamma Nu Professional Business Fraternity, an engagement partner for OTCR Consulting, and actively involved in his fraternity, Pi Kappa Alpha. Alex is extremely excited to give back to the College of Business as he credits the fantastic opportunities he has had on campus to the College. He is most looking forward to seeing the College of Business’ rankings sky-rocket in BusinessWeek because of LEGACY’s initiative with the senior survey.
Jenny Reif is a senior majoring in Accounting, originally from Gurnee, IL. On campus she in an active member of Kappa Delta Sorority, and is staying for her fifth year at the University of Illinois to obtain her Masters in Accounting Science. This past summer she interned downtown for BDO USA, LLP, and will return for a Summer 2013 tax internship. Jenny is excited to be a part of LEGACY and thankful for the chance to help give back to the College of Business while bonding with the senior class.
Debbie Shi is a Senior/MAS student majoring in Accountancy from Libertyville, Illinois. On campus, she is a Business 101 Section Leader, ACCY 301 Teaching Assistant, and active member of Business Council. Last winter, Debbie interned at Deloitte in their audit practice. She has also interned at Grant Thornton for the past two summers and will be starting full-time in the tax practice next fall. Debbie is looking forward to giving back to the College of Business through the 2013 LEGACY Campaign!
Cameron Blaydes is a senior studying Finance and Political Science. After growing up in Brazil and South Florida, he moved to Lincolnshire, Illinois for his senior year of high school. He has been actively involved on campus, serving as the Internal Manager for Illinois Business Consulting, President of Sigma Phi Epsilon social fraternity, and Social Chair of Business Council. He is also a member of the
Business Honors Program and is looking forward to giving back to the College of Business as a part of LEGACY.
Tom Cronin is a senior majoring in Accountancy from Evergreen Park, IL. He is a Chick Evans Caddie Scholar and
he is actively involved in the University of Illinois chapter where he serves as the Alumni Relations Chair. He is also actively involved in the College of Business where he is a Business 101 Section Leader. Tom is excited to be a member of the LEGACY Campaign so he can help unify the entire College of Business and to give back to the school that has given so much to us."
Brian Lov is a senior in Accounting from Morton Grove, IL. Currently, he is preparing to sit for the CPA exam and is pursuing his studies to start work in the audit field. Outside of the business curriculum, Brian likes to engage in creative projects in graphic design and hopes to benefit the LEGACY Marketing Board. Brian is a member of the Campus Lighting Committee and works for CITES CCME. In addition to campus volunteer work, Brian is involved in Sigma Alpha Lambda and Phi Sigma Theta honor and service societies. He is honored to contribute to theLEGACY Campaign to ensure that future classes receive the support and opportunities given to him during his undergraduate experience.
Mike Smigielski is from Darien, Illinois. He is a senior majoring in Accountancy and will be here a fifth year next year to complete his Masters Degree. He is also minoring in Spanish and the Hoeft Technology and Management Program. He absolutely loves to travel and visited England, France, Portugal, and Morocco, while studying abroad in Granada, Spain two summers ago. He also traveled to Greece this past spring for a Deloitte Case Competition and China this summer through the T&M program. He is the President of Business Council - an organization that has become his home away from home. Additionally, he is a Business 101 Section Leader and a brother in Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. He is excited for LEGACY this year because he greatly desires to give back to a College and a community that has provided endless opportunities and life experiences throughout college.
David Steckel is a senior majoring in Finance from Carrollton, IL. He is an active member in Phi Gamma Nu and is currently serving as PGN's New Member Educator. This year he is excited to leave a LEGACY as the group works to unite the senior class, give back to the College of Business, and have lots of fun in the process.
Adam Steinert is a senior majoring in Supply Chain Management and Information Systems and Technology. He is also receiving a minor in the Hoeft Technology and Management program. He will be working full time for Deloitte Consulting when he graduates. On campus, Adam is the Internal Vice President of Business Council and an active member of Students in Free Enterprise. Adam is excited to give back to the college and connect more with his class through LEGACY.
Lauren Mayer is a senior that is majoring in Marketing from
La Grange, IL. Lauren had spent the previous Spring semester abroad in Belgium, where she had the opportunity to travel all across Europe. On campus, Lauren serves as an active member of the American Marketing Association, has held numerous positions including VP Finance for her sorority Alpha Gamma Delta, and had previously worked as a Sales Representative at Illini Media. She believes it is important to give back to the College of Business so that the school can keep providing the best opportunities and resources possible for UIUC Business students and is looking forward to making sure that happens through being a member of LEGACY this upcoming year.
Ben Miller is a senior from Boody, IL majoring in Supply Chain Management and Information Systems and Information Technology. Two summers ago, Ben interned for The Boeing Company in Seattle, WA and last summer with Deloitte Consulting in Chicago, where he will return full-time upon graduation. On campus Ben has served as President of Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE), Project Manager for OTCR Consulting, mentor for Alpha Kappa Psi Professional Business Fraternity, and a Student Advisor for the Supply Chain Management Program. Ben is excited to help leave his mark on the College of Business and unite all the classes!
Drew Mixon is a senior in Finance with a minor in the Hoeft Technology & Management Program. He is from Algonquin, IL, and he is excited to have his younger brother, Greg, on campus this fall. He currently serves on the Executive Board of Business Council, and he also enjoys participating in Illini Pride as well as intramural sports teams on campus. Drew is looking forward to defining the Class of 2013 Gift and giving back to a college which he feels has given so much to him over the last 3+ years.
Katie Chan is a junior studying Accountancy from
Willowbrook, IL. Apart from LEGACY, she is the President of the 1867 Society as well as a member of the Finance Club. Katie is excited to serve on LEGACY this year as well as to educate students on the importance of giving back to the College of Business.
Mike Jarzabek is a junior majoring in Accountancy from
Chicago, Illinois. This past summer he interned at CNA serving as an analytical intern. After the completion of the twelve week internship, he received an offer to come back as an intern the following summer. On campus he is a member of Acacia Fraternity as well as being a Student Supervisor at the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts. As a junior he will be exposed to many areas of LEGACY and is eager to begin learning and giving back to the College of Business.
Allison Kazaitis is a junior in marketing and business process management. She is from Palos Park, Illinois and attended Amos Alonzo Stagg High School. On campus, she is heavily involved with her sorority, Alpha Xi Delta serving as Chapter President She is also an active member of Business Council and the Atius-Sachem Leadership Honorary. For the past two summers, she interned in the marketing and communications departments of Robert Bosch. Allison is extremely excited to get the entire college involved in the LEGACY campaign through the implementation of new, innovative events this year.
Daeun Lee is a junior in finance and marketing. She is
Korean, but lived in Kuwait for most of her life. Last summer, she worked at a cosmetic company in Seoul, as a marketing and design intern. On campus, she's involved in various organizations, including Business Council, Undergraduate Business Media, and Student Alumni Ambassadors. She also currently serves as a Business101 Section Leader. Having gained countless experiences and opportunities in the
College of Business, she's super excited to give back through LEGACY this year!
Mark Olson is a junior majoring in Accountancy and Finance from Buffalo Grove, IL. On campus, he is very involved as
President of Alpha Kappa Psi Professional Business
Fraternity. This past summer, he interned at Plante & Moran
as an audit and tax intern. He is one of the juniors who is
very excited about giving back to LEGACY and the College of Business over the next 2 years. He's hoping to excite the entire college about the LEGACY mission.
Teddy Starck-King is a junior majoring in accounting from Glenview, IL. On campus he is the Treasurer of Alpha Kappa Psi Professional Business Fraternity. He was an Enterprise Benefits Accounting Intern with The Boeing Company in Seattle, WA this past summer. Teddy is extremely excited to be a part of the LEGACY Campaign and to start giving back to the College of Business.
