A Letter from the President
My name is Jacob Kinstler, President of the Upsilon Chapter of Delta Sigma Pi. I am currently a junior majoring in Finance with a minor in Environmental Economics and Law. I rushed in the fall of 2010 as a first semester freshmen and to this day I consider it the best decision I have made in college. As a brother in Delta Sigma Pi I have served as the collegiate affairs chair, brotherhood chair, chancellor and vice president of pledge education. The experiences and opportunities I have gained through Delta Sigma Pi have shaped who I am today. Whether you choose to rush Delta Sigma Pi or find your way through another organization, I hope you are able to experience what I have through the fraternity so far in my collegiate career.
Delta Sigma Pi is America's foremost business fraternity for men and women pursuing careers in business. The Upsilon chapter dedicates itself to brotherhood, community service and professional development. Our brotherhood and the close bond all of our brothers have with each other, is what differentiates Delta Sigma Pi. I encourage you to talk to the brothers about this brotherhood during rush.Every brother has a different experience, but has a story or a memory of why Delta Sigma Pi has been instrumental in shaping their collegiate career. Over the past few years the fraternity has been named Legacy RSO of the year, headed the Tree of Hope campaign to benefit Developmental Services Center, and participated in numerous other philanthropy events to benefit organizations such as St. Jude's hospital and the Salvation Army. Delta Sigma Pi is a professional business fraternity built to foster the study of business in universities.
We focus on furthering our brothers professionally and also staying connected with the business world. Our relationship with the college of business at the University of Illinois is another focus for our fraternity as a whole. The involvement of faculty in our chapter gives our brothers an opportunity to learn, grow, and enhance their involvement with the College of Business. Currently, we have two faculty initiates: Dean Jim Dahl and Professor of Accountancy Kevin Jackson. Rushing Delta Sigma Pi was the best decision I made after entering college. I have seen myself grow and develop as a professional and as a student. I hope for you the same, so I invite you to rush Delta Sigma Pi this semester. To learn more about our chapter, please join us at our Information Night Thursday, January 17th.
