Council of Presidents

The Council of Presidents is an alliance of College of Business related Registered Student Organizations, encompassing approximately 3,000 students. The Mission Statement of the Council is as follows:

“The Council of Presidents exists to serve the College of Business and our local community in matters of service and philanthropy through the extension of Business principles beyond the classroom and into real world applications.  Members are expected to use their talents and abilities for the betterment of those around them and to represent the College of Business at the University of Illinois proudly.”
Membership in the Council of Presidents has many benefits, including (but not limited to):

  • Increased Visibility within the College, University and outside Community
  • Increased access to College Faculty and Staff
  • Special consideration for corporate partnership
  • Exclusive funding opportunities
  • Access to bulletin boards in Wohlers Hall
  • Opportunities to co-sponsor major College initiatives and gain experience in event planning and management
  • Exclusive access to Council only communication avenues (Compass site, presence in Undergraduate Handbook, presence on Undergraduate webpage)

All organizations belonging to the Council are expected to actively engage in Council events and gatherings.  These include (but are not limited to)

  • Eight yearly meetings (generally held the first Monday of every month)
  • Three volunteer events (Two career fair coat checks and one philanthropy event)
  • One informational fair (Business Quad Day)
  • Miscellaneous other items should they arise (Reverse Career Fair, Networking event, etc)

The Council is overseen by the Office of Undergraduate Affairs.  Daily operations of the Council include (but are not limited to) organization review, management of Compass site, tracking of organization requirement fulfillment, disciplinary action, meeting organization, funding review and event management.  The Assistant Director of Undergraduate Affairs and the Council of Presidents Advisory Board oversee the Council.
