My continual search for a truly good cup of coffee often spills into my classes. So learning about the stock market begins in the same way as the stock market itself began: with a business.
My fantasy business begins with the Survey Building.
The Survey Building belongs to the College of Commerce and
Business Administration at the University of Illinois at Urbana-
Champaign. No one really knows what to do with this building.
We can't tear it down because it's been declared an historic
site. We gave up encouraging people to smoke there. The
College has it divided up into office slots for graduate Students
that we don't like very much.
In my fantasy, the Dean has finally given me permission to use the Survey Building to start a business: the business is a CyberCafé I call the Discovery Café.
