About APICS:
APICS is an international organization of professionals and students, and the U of I APICS Chapter is the student organization of the Industrial Distribution Management (IDM) Program. Founded in 1957 as the American Production and Inventory Control Society, APICS has since expanded its focus and is now known as "APICS- The Educational Society for Resource Management." APICS is an international educational organization respected throughout the world for its education and professional certification programs in resource management. APICS is comprised of more than 60,000 professional and student members worldwide.

Chapter:
The U of I APICS Student Chapter is the student organization of the Industrial Distribution Management (IDM) Program.

Aims & Purposes:
The mission of the U of I APICS Chapter is to complement the Industrial Distribution Management Program by promoting professionalism, career advancement, and APICS certification through an inclusive social atmosphere. Objectives:
  1. Develop Professionalism
  2. Foster IDM Family atmosphere through socials
  3. Promote APICS certification and education

Meetings:
Monthly meetings bring together IDM majors and top employers who have a common interest in a variety of resource management fields: Supply-Chain Management, Consulting, Logistics Management, Purchasing, Marketing, e-Commerce, Materials and Enterprise Resource Planning, etc. APICS is here at the University of Illinois to help students certify their knowledge in these concepts learned in the IDM curriculum. However, APICS membership is open to all majors.
