Programs of Study
Undergraduate
- Accountancy
The Bachelor of Science in Accountancy(BSA) prepares students for entry into a variety of fields in accountancy, including corporate accounting, accounting information systems, and governmental accounting, as well as entry into graduate programs such as law. Students who are in the BSA program that wish to take the CPA examination have the option of applying to the department's integrated Bachelor/Master in Accountancy program or the Certificate in Accountancy program. - Business Process Management
A process management major typically combines a thoughtful, goal-oriented approach to projects with the business skills necessary to manage systems, people, ideas, and capital. Most graduates will start as an operations or strategy consultant, a project manager, a supply chain analyst, or a quality management professional. The previous Management Science concentration falls into this degree program. - Finance
Most Department of Finance students specialize in the conventional fields of corporate finance and investments. Many also receive extensive training in real estate, risk management, financial intermediation, and insurance. Many also take more than the required sequence in accountancy. Though our undergraduate offerings are unusually rich and varied, sample courses are provided at left. - Information Systems & Information Technology
Information Systems (IS) professionals are interested in the application of information technology to business activities. They are concerned with the design and implementation of information systems to support the information processing needs of an organization. This degree program was previously the Management Information Systems concentration. - Management (General, Entrepreneurship, & International Business Concentrations)
Management majors are leaders, decision makers, and strategic thinkers. A management degree is a solid foundation for any number of future business careers. Most management majors will start as management generalists, gaining experience and company/industry knowledge. Many will participate in a formal management trainee program. Long term, many management majors choose to further their education with an advanced degree. The previous Organizational Administration concentration falls into this degree program. - Marketing
Marketing encompasses those business activities directly related to the process of placing goods and services in the hands of consumers. With well-developed creativity and analytical skills, marketing graduates focus on the efficient performance of marketing activities and their effective coordination with other operations of the firm. - Supply Chain Management
The Supply Chain Management program develops entry-level managers with the vision, versatility, and technical competence to manage a firm's supply chain. The business-technology interface and the supplier-manufacturer-distributor infrastructure are at the heart of this curriculum. This is a vigorous program open only to select students. This degree program was previously the Industrial Distribution Management concentration. - Technology & Management Minor
The Hoeft Technology & Management Program bridges the gap between traditional engineering and business education by offering a unique curriculum to a select group of highly qualified undergraduates drawn from the Colleges of Engineering and Business. Undergraduates learn together in an integrated program without sacrificing disciplinary depth in their major fields of study. The program emphasizes experiential and hands-on learning.

The Master of Science in Accountancy (MSA) is a 12-month graduate degree program for students who wish to prepare for a career in accounting. The traditional program track is structured for individuals who have a business-related undergraduate degree but little previous study or experience in accounting. This advanced accounting option is available to non-U.S. accountants who wish to acquire an in-depth understanding of U.S. accounting concepts and practices. - Master of Science in Finance (MSF)
The Illinois MSF program - completed in 12 months - is an intense, immersive educational experience unrivaled for the breadth and depth of its course offerings. The program provides an innovative curriculum of sophisticated courses that builds a strong foundation in the principles and practices of finance and introduces emerging concepts, practices, and technology used in the finance industry. - Master of Science in Technology Management (MS-Tech)

Unlike traditional business programs, the MS-Tech program immerses students in case studies on integrating new technology, the benefits of technology infrastructure, and problem solving through technology. This specialized knowledge of technology as a problem solving tool and change driver allows MS-Tech graduates to develop into more effective managers and leaders, and to adapt more readily to changes in the marketplace.
