The Illinois doctoral program in Business Administration is the result of a careful analysis and examination both of other doctoral programs and the emerging needs of teachers and researchers in the 21st century. One innovation is the development of foundation courses required of all doctoral students.
Not only will you develop your understanding of the existing body of knowledge and the appropriate research methods within your chosen area of study, but you also will become aware of how scholars in other areas pursue knowledge development and dissemination.
You will study the underlying historical bases of the different areas of BusinessAdministration as well as how the areas further knowledge in their fields. This cross-disciplinary approach is vitally important today as business organizations continue their move to cross-functional and cross-disciplinary management teams.
We are quite proud of the tradition and heritage of doctoral education at the University of Illinois. Our doctoral graduates today occupy leading positions in business schools throughout the world. Previous graduates are now well-known for their research and scholarly achievements.
