John W. Queenan Scholarship
The Queenan Family Foundation established the John W. Queenan Scholarship
to honor the memory of John W. Queenan, a 1927 accountancy graduate of
the University of Illinois. Mr. Queenan received the highest score
on the state’s CPA examination and began a 43-year career with the
international accounting firm, Deloitte, Haskins & Sells. He
was the firm’s managing partner for fifteen years. He also
served as President of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants
and as a member of the Committee on Accounting Procedures, the Accounting
Principles Board and the Financial Accounting Standards Board. His
generosity toward the accounting profession, the University of Illinois,
and humanity distinguished John W. Queenan during his lifetime.
