Robert O. Palmer and Dolores A. Palmer
Scholarship
Dolores Palmer established the Robert O. Palmer and Dolores A. Palmer
Scholarship memory her husband. Mr. Palmer earned a bachelor's degree
in accountancy from the University of Illinois in 1954. He was a member
of the social fraternity Sigma Nu and the honorary fraternities Beta Alpha
Psi and Alpha Kappa Psi. He was a member of the American Institute
of Certified Public Accountants. He retired as a managing partner
of Arthur Andersen & Company in Chicago in 1987 after spending his
entire career with the company. Mr. Palmer was an active Advocate
on behalf of his alma mater, serving as a National Network volunteer and
a section chair for Campaign for Illinois. He became a member of
the Presidents Council in 1987 and a member of the University of Illinois
Foundation in 1993. Dolores Palmer is a Presidents Council member
and continues to be a generous supporter of the College of Business.
