Ken and Betty Hughes
Scholarship
K. Scott and Marilyn Krieger Hughes established the Ken and Betty Hughes
Scholarship. Scott earned his B.S. and M.S. degree in Accountancy
from the University of Illinois in 1965 and 1970, respectively. His
father, Mr. Ken Hughes, graduated from Refrigeration and Air Conditioning
trade school in Chicago in 1946 and after several years in construction
around Peru, Illinois he began 25 years of service working with the Operations
and Maintenance Division of the University of Illinois. His mother,
Mrs. Betty Hughes, graduated from St. Joseph School of Nursing in Bloomington,
Illinois as a registered nurse in 1944. She retired from Mercy Hospital
in 1982.
