Marvin and Nancy Dennis Doctoral Fellowship
in Accountancy
Marvin and Nancy Dennis established the Marvin and Nancy Dennis Doctoral
Fellowship in Accountancy. Marvin earned a B.S. degree in Accountancy
in 1959 from the University of Illinois, where he was an active member
of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. Nancy is an alumna of the University
of Wisconsin.
Following graduate, Mr. Dennis worked in public accounting in Chicago
and also earned a law degree. He received an MBA from Harvard Business
School in 1966 and was employed by McKinsey and Company, and later by Itel
Corporation in San Francisco. In 1974, Marvin and a partner formed
Trans Ocean Ltd., a maritime container-leasing firm, which they operated
successfully for 23 years before selling the firm in 1996.
Marvin and Nancy Dennis Doctoral Fellowships recognize meritorious
graduate students pursuing a doctoral degree in Accountancy.
