James Chan (BS '71, MAS '73, Ph.D. '75) continues to teach and
conduct research in government accounting. A founder and active member
of the Comparative International Government Accounting Research (CIGAR)
network, he is working on China's government accounting standards and budget
law revision, and on international public sector accounting standards.
A faculty member at UI-Chicago since 1981, Chan is also Consulting Professor
at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics and at Xiamen University,
and Professor with Special Appointment at the Research Institute of Fiscal
Science in China. He has also held visiting appointments at the University
of Chicago, Tsinghua University (China), and Bocconi University

David J. Fitzpatrick has been appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Tyco International Ltd. Prior to this appointment he was the Senior Vice President and CFO of United Technologies.
James Reynolds, Jr. was recently name to Vice President of Finance and Controller of Gregory, Inc., a graphics/sign/printing company.
Arthur C. Joy, Jr., PhD in Accountancy 1965, retired from the faculty of Columbus (Georgia) State University.
Ken M. Lalla (BS '83, CPA, MBA Illinois Benedictine University) has been appointed Chief Financial Officer for Certified Grocers Midwest, a $640 million dollar grocery wholesale distributor based in a Chicago Illinois suburb. Prior to this appointment he was the North American Controller for Australia based Nufarm.
Lawrence D. Levin, B.S. in Accountancy 1981 and a J.D. from the College of Law in 1985, recently coauthored SEC Handbook II: Preparing Annual SEC Disclosure Documents. The 460-page book was published by CCH (formerly Commerce Clearing House) and is intended as a resource for those who have responsibility for preparing and reviewing annual SEC disclosure documents for public companies. Mr. Levin is Chairman of the Securities Practice at the law firm of Katten Muchin Zavis in Chicago, IL and has devoted a substantial portion of his practice to the areas of securities registration, regulation and compliance. Levin was formerly Chairman of the Chicago Bar Association’s Securities Law Committee.
Lily Luna, B.S. in Accountancy 1998, was promoted to supervisor for Pricewaterhouse Coopers in Paris, France. She works in the Transaction Services group.
Douglas John Dossey, B.S. in Accountancy 1995, was promoted to Principal from Vice President in January, 2002. Mr. Dossey works for FdG Associates, a private equity investment firm, in New York City.
Stephen Bayers, B.S in Accountancy 1978, is vice president of finance at Mi-Jack Products, Inc in Hazel Crest, Illinois. Mi-Jack Products is a manufacturer of material handling equipment and operator of railroad terminals.
Dr. Craig Ehlen, B.S. in Accountancy 1968, MAS in Accountancy 1969, DBA 1994 Southern Illinois University is an Associate Professor at the University of Southern Indiana in Evansville. He was recently named Indiana's Outstanding Accounting Educator by the Indiana CPA Society.
