Nicholas Dopuch Reception and Dinner

A reception and dinner were held in honor of Professor Nicholas Dopuch on Saturday, January 15, 2000 at the Newport Beach Marriott Hotel and Tennis Club in Newport Beach, California.  The event was planned by Professors Ira Solomon and A. Rashad Abdel-khalik from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and the University of Florida, respectively.  The evening was a celebration of the numerous contributions made by Nick to accountancy academe and the University of Illinois.

Professor Dopuch received his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1961. He was a visiting professor with the University of Illinois 1985, 1987 and 1970-71.  He was a member of the University of Chicago's faculty for 22 years. He has served as Editor and Co-Editor for the Journal of Accounting Research from 1968-1999.  He is currently on the faculty at Washington University.
