REFLECTIVE TEACHER WORKSHOP SERIES
The Reflective Teacher series is for faculty who are ready and committed to meet on a regular basis to think about their own teaching. Some activities are to develop/revise your teaching statements, to identify effective teaching strategies, and to create a teaching portfolio. Participants will also have the opportunity to observe award-winning teachers across campus. While the initial purpose is for formative assessment, faculty will be able to use what they have learned to build a teaching portfolio to use for P&T (e.g., 3rd and 5th year review), teaching awards nominations, and grant proposals. Senior faculty attend not only for personal growth, but also so they may be more effective mentors and peer observers.
The Reflective Teacher series will be on Thursdays from 11:30 – 1:00 in 370 Wohlers (with lunch), starting on February 3.. All attendees will receive Peter Seldin’s The Teaching Portfolio.(Remember – this series is not offered every year). Please contact Kari Smith (3-2330 or firstname.lastname@example.org) to reserve your lunch and materials.
